Our Mexico Trip

In January 2010 Sandy and I traveled to Mexico to visit her son Ethan, his wife Nancy and her 4 year old grand daughter Zada.  Since the economic unpleasantness they have been traveling from port to port in their 34 foot sailboat.
We spent our first night in Mexico in the mountain city of San Sebastian, founded 1605. It is located at 5000 feet in the mountains — accessible tediously by car through much new construction of mountainous highways.

We spent the night in a 300 year old hotel. At right is Zada riding a pony guided by her dad through the San Sebastian streets.

Later on in our visit we had dinner downtown after a full day of shopping and exploration.

Here is a picture of the downtown cathedral. I’ve never seen such a cathedral dome! NOTE: the church used LED lights as votive candles for visitors to light.
